dam its brand new, how much you paid for it? i receive a homelite from my father in law and i haven’t try it still. give me some advises for my first try at the end of the week.

it looks great! i have a couple engines that have never seen a wrench. its neet to find one like that! you got a lucky find with that. im going to try to get my winco going soon. it needs the points cleaned because its got no spark.

    Thanks,
Yes, I have run it a couple times and do just what you say. Last thing I want to do is put a wrench on any of those bolts to take the carb apart as its still perfect from the factory. A wrench would chip the paint away.

you should exercise it on occasions! it keeps all the seals good, and lets you enjoy it a little! but when your done turn off the fuel and let the engine run the carberator dry. and as long as you do that and remeber to drain the fuel tank it will remain in that condition! i like it its real nice! i have a 1963 Zenith Winco 3500w also in great shape but not quite as nice! it appears the owners always drained the fuel tank and let the carb run dry when they put it away! keep the carb cleaner

that cup over the spark plug is to stop the spark plug from interfering with radio frequencys. its just a sheild.

briggs will give you a huge offer for that 10-20yrs you cant replace history! they will need original, you have something that should be put up for 10 more years & then offer it to briggs history collection! dont use that. buy something else please &if thats the original paint box it & dont touch it for 10yrs .

  13. brown05046

are you crazy put that up and store it! it will be worth money trust me!

  14. TheLivingskies

Those were very popular on farms in rural Canada. Great genset! The John Deeres with cast iron Tecumseh were a tad better, but way more money!

  15. Edricofifrit

Let me say this. It’s been said before. They just don’t make ‘em like they used to.

Newer machines have way better tech, but near zero durability. The old ones are hard to break, and that is a fact (if you treat them well, true for all machines). I remember older Briggs motors, much more durable than the new ones.

  16. amfan12

Those “20″ amp sockets, are actually 230v sockets. 20 amp 115v sockets have 1 vertical, and one horizontal slot. Two horizontal is 230v

  17. Dieselolds

    Wow thats a nice generator.

  18. 05clenharth

they dont make em’ like that anymore

briggs engines are the best small engines in the world

  20. chatrkat

beautiful condition! classic piece of high quality equipment. don’t forget to drain and put fresh 30 wt oil in that motor. great video.

NICE dude 1968?? looks older than that does it still work really well?

  22. uploadJ

EMI – Doug, that cover over the spark plug (and shield wire back into the engine) would work to minimize *spark plug* noise as heard on a radio … many of those smaller engines used a _straight_ wire to boot and created a pulses-per-revolution that can be heard for aways over even commercial FM broadcast radios … out little John Deere model 110 lawn and carden tractor used to put out quite a bit of noise until I added a device in series with the spark plug to knock that noise down!

  23. kc03300

do you have a serial number on the carb.have the same one but it needs a carb rebuilt.

  24. 1944johndeerel

thats a real nice generator! can you make a vid of your fan for us collectors?

  25. OldHowlingHound

Very nice collector’s item there for sure. The 6HP engine is a bit of an overkill but that’s far better than a undersize 4HP like they would use today. It’s a real shame that DESSA bought out Pincor some time ago only to totally destroy them. Now parts are a pain to find but your’s in MINT condition shouldn’t need any parts for a long time. If noise bothers you B&S has threaded Low-Tone mufflers that will take off some of the loud bark. By the way later model Pincor were junky.
